Clownin' Around on Founder's Day... May 9 and 10, 2008 |
| The Splendora Founder's Day Society is a non-profit
organization formed in 1981. The original intent of the society
was to plan an annual event to celebrate the founding of what is
formerly known as "Cox Switch." Over the years, the celebration
has progressed into a 2-day event packed with fun, food, and family
entertainment. In addition to the annual celebration, the society
raises funds to give back to the community. Such giving includes
the purchase of park equipment, street lighting during Christmas, a
gazebo as a city land-mark, and the provision of education scholarships
awarded to Splendora High School seniors. This year four (4)
$1,000.00 scholarships will be awarded. |
